TDHP’s Purpose
The purpose of The Dachshund History Project website is to record the history of the Dachshund breed in the United States. As a result, this is not truly a brag site, but a place to objectively record the history of both our breed as a whole and of individual dogs who made a quantifiable contribution to our breed.
In the Register of Merit section, you will find only listed offspring that contributed to the parent’s ROM designation with the Dachshund Club of America, Inc. The parent may have other titled offspring in the U.S. or champion offspring in other countries, but unless those dogs contributed a ROM qualifier to the parent, they will not be individually listed on the parent’s page. If you, as a breeder and/or owner, would like to make mention of those offspring, you may, but they will be included in the biography section only, which we have limited to 250 words or less in the interest of brevity.
If you would like to see something addressed that we have not, please send us a message via the contact form. We are happy to consider anything that is reasonable.
If you have information, corrections or a bio for a dog, please send us that information via the contact form. If you have pictures you would like to share, please let us know from the same form and we will reply from an email address to which you can then send attachments.
Thank you for helping to make this site the go-to source for Dachshund history in the United States.
