Robert was a sturdy, correct red dog who combined the East (Bayard) with the West (Covara and LeLou). He was a Stud Puppy that Mary got when Martha Prendergast bred her CH Katella of Lelou to the influential Tartare. His dam, while a Longhair herself, had Gera Smooths as all four of her grandparents and that big fronted Gera look with a little bit more robust body was then much more apparent in the Bayard line. Mary Howell was able to incorporate this sturdines without losing the typy elegance that the Bayard line was renowned for.
Robert won all the big shows, including BV at DCA . He was a very significant producer as well.
