Imported from Germany in 1932 with his half-brother Heini and their dam Heka. The black and tan Heini was BOV and took 2nd in the Hound Group at Westminster in 1933, but the red Feri was the real star – DCA BOB winner 1934, 1935, 1936, 1937; winner of 46 Best of Breed Awards; 6 time Hound Group winner; and earned 40 Hound Group placements.
Feri was reported to have weighed under 20 pounds. His son, CH Waldiff Ellenbert, was the Bertrands’ first homebred Dachshund champion. – Tracy Freeling
